Mosque Foundation Community Packs the Hall for Fundraising Dinner

The Mosque Foundation community packed the Hall on October 6, 2019, for our annual fundraising dinner at the Belvedere Chateau in Palos Hills. Over 600 people attended, including adults and children with separate programs; imams from neighboring masajid; and other community leaders. With the blessings of Allah and the generosity of the community, a little over $1M was raised in donations and pledges. With this support, The Mosque Foundation will continue to offer religious, educational, and social services to the community.

The event began with a call to Maghreb prayer followed by dinner. The presentation portion opened with Quran recitation by Salem Abuammer, followed by welcoming remarks from President Oussama Jammal. Islam Jaber served as the master of ceremonies. Guests watched a video presentation highlighting the Masjid’s programs and services, entered a chance to win raffle prizes, and enjoyed the social gathering and dinner.

The program also included three community service awards presented to: Sh. Ahmed Al-Sheikhi, Dr. Jehad Matariyeh, and to our security team. We thank them for their service and ask Allah to grant them continued success in the future. This year, we also presented seven high school and college students with scholarships to encourage and assist them in achieving their educational goals.

We are grateful to Allah for granting us the opportunity to serve Him and the community. We are also grateful to you, our gracious community members. Uthman ibn Affan reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for them a house like it in Paradise. May Allah reward every person, business, and organization that supports the Mosque Foundation.
